Get Involved

You don’t need a company to make a difference.

Sponsorship is one way to stand with October One — but it isn’t the only way. Here’s how individuals can get involved, no company required.

501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Organization

Nigerian Independence Day Inc. is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (EIN 88-2996289), effective July 8, 2026.

Ways To Help

Four ways to stand with us.

Every gathering runs on people who show up, give what they can, and tell others — not just corporate checks.

Attend the Gala

Show up on October 1, 2026. A full room is the clearest sign of support the Embassy, sponsors, and our community can see.

Volunteer Your Time

From event-day logistics to planning committees, we always need hands and ideas ahead of and during the celebration.

Make a Donation

As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, every gift, large or small, goes directly toward the mission and running the celebration well.

Spread the Word

Tell your community, your church, your alumni group, your office. The bigger the gathering, the bigger the statement.
